Rolex - Explorer II - 226570 - 2026

The Explorer II was launched in 1971 as a tool watch for speleologists and polar explorers, equipped with a 24-hour hand and fixed 24-hour bezel so wearers could distinguish day from night in environments without sunlight. Reference 226570 was introduced in 2021, replacing the 216570 and bringing the latest-generation Calibre 3285 with an extended power reserve to the line.

The 42mm Oystersteel case features a fixed stainless steel bezel with engraved 24-hour graduations. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the Oyster case offers water resistance to 100 metres with a Twinlock winding crown.

The white Polar dial is finished in lacquer and fitted with large Chromalight hour markers for blue-glow legibility in low light. A date aperture at 3 o'clock sits beneath a Cyclops lens, whilst the orange 24-hour hand — a distinctive signature of the Explorer II — sweeps the fixed bezel scale to indicate a second time zone.

Calibre 3285 is Rolex's manufacture movement featuring the Chronergy escapement and Parachrom hairspring for enhanced shock and magnetic resistance. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, delivers approximately 70 hours of power reserve, and carries Superlative Chronometer certification — accurate to within minus two to plus two seconds per day.

Presented on an Oystersteel Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock safety clasp and Easylink 5mm comfort extension for rapid on-the-wrist adjustment.

Excellent condition from 2026 means minimal wear — expect light surface marks on the bracelet, maintained nearly new condition. Complete as a full set with box and papers dated March 2026. The five-year Rolex manufacturer's warranty remains active until March 2031.

A purpose-built GMT-equipped tool watch with Rolex's toughest contemporary movement and the legibility to match any environment.
