Tag Heuer Monaco

Jack Heuer designed the Monaco 1969 as deliberate provocation—square case defying round watch orthodoxy. The watch gained cultural immortality through Steve McQueen wearing reference 1133B in 1971's "Le Mans". The green dial variant introduced 2021 provides contemporary colour choice within Monaco's historically conservative aesthetic, paired with H-shaped steel bracelet for integrated design.

Thirty-nine millimetres square in brushed and polished stainless steel. Case thickness 15.21 millimetres. Left-side crown positioning at nine o'clock—Monaco signature since 1969. Mixed finishing with brushed surfaces and polished bevels. Domed sapphire crystal. Exhibition caseback displaying movement. One hundred metres water resistance.

Green dial with sunray brushing creating radial striations. Applied steel hour indices. Three chronograph subdials—thirty-minute counter at three o'clock, quarter-second counter at six o'clock housing date window, twelve-hour counter at nine o'clock. Steel hands with Super-LumiNova filling. Central chronograph seconds hand. "Monaco" printed above six o'clock subdial.

Inside sits Calibre Heuer 02—TAG Heuer's manufacture chronograph introduced 2016. Column wheel construction, vertical clutch, eighty-hour power reserve. Twenty-eight jewels, 28,800 vph. Movement demonstrates traditional Swiss finishing with côtes de Genève decoration, perlage, blued screws.

Stainless steel H-shaped bracelet with polished centre links, brushed outer links—design inspired by vintage Monaco bracelets from 1970s. Folding clasp with push-button release. Very good condition from 2021 means four years of visible wear—expect moderate scratching on polished case surfaces and bracelet centre links, dulling on brushed areas, no deep damage. Chronograph should engage cleanly with column wheel mechanism. Full set includes TAG Heuer presentation box, warranty card dated 2021, instruction manual. Manufacturer's warranty expired—covered by Pride & Pinion one-year warranty.

The green dial represents bold departure from traditional Monaco black, white, or blue configurations. The H-shaped bracelet provides integrated aesthetic differentiating this variant from leather strap versions. Secondary market values stable for Monaco chronographs with manufacture movements maintaining appeal through Steve McQueen associations and distinctive square architecture.
